Well after all my travels I’m back. I am looking forward to passing on lots of the things I learned. After the first week my Internet access was sketchy so I was unable to keep up with my blog. I decided that I would have to save it all up.
Here is my favourite picture of Scotland. It is tardis converted into a cafe called coppuccino. It is one of the 6 originals in Glasgow and I’m glad I found it. What a shame David Tennant wasn’t in there.

I went to see Yazoo at the Armadillo. Did a cycle tour of Glasgow with Callum age 13 and generally enjoyed myself.

I did make it to sessions through the week only a few worth mentioning. Like Robbie Davis Floyd’s session on models of care that work. Not surprisingly they were all midwifery models throughout the world. Backing up the WHO statement about birth attendant.

I also attended The Day at the Breech which will get a whole post to itself. I was inspired, reassured and affiliated to the day. and have so much respect for Jane Evans and Brenda Van der Hooy. Their study is world renowned and deserves to be. Ann Frye was another attendee of the day which was great even if she did advertise her book at every opportunity. The formidable Betty Anne Davis was there too.

The rest of the holiday was just that. When I got to grips with the lack of Internet I relaxed caught up with friends and family. partied a little too hard on occasions since I am normally on call and don’t drink. I can’t thank my friends in Kettering enough for making me feel like a queen and my family for killing the fatted calf just for my benefit. My life is so full of love and friendship that I am definitely the luckiest person I know. Then I get to come home to my husband and kids who also made me feel like i was really important.
That is it in a nutshell. Except to say my very good friend who was one of my travelling companions for the first week had her nipples pierced. I can say it now she has caught up with her husband. What a total hoot we had. We also spent the Scottish evening photographing breasts, it’s amazing how many cooperative midwives there were!! I think when she eventually gets home from her travels her blog is going to be fantastic.
So Back to birth as I promised it to be a blog about just that. Hopefully I have some readers left. As part of things I would like to make it more obvious on how to access the previously written articles that are no longer on the front page. It appears that there are many readers who don’t know they can click on them. Also some of the titles aren’t obvious. Any comments gratefully received.
