What A Week

Last weekend was the homebirth retreat in the Blue Mountains. I was a speaker. My talk was on facilitating a breech birth at home. We arrived and mingled. Did some birth art, while others (like me!) sat by the fire with a gin and tonic. Then we did the most fantastic African drumming workshop. Later that evening a client rang me to say that she was niggling. I spoke to her over night and then decided in the morning that following my talk I’d fly back to Adelaide to be with her.

I did just that. I was sorry to miss the rest of the retreat, lots of friends and other midwives from around Australia were there. However I was more than happy to fly back for a client. She waited for me and I had the privilege of being with her for her HBAC. More about the Blue Mountains to appear once I’ve caught up with sleep and had my friend from midwifery is catching to send me some pics.

Wow. Yup, you just made it to midwife #1 in my book. What a precious spirit you have. I don’t even know what to say. Selfless devotion is what comes to mind.
