I haven’t updated everyone on our great workshop programme.
Last week was the breech discussion, this is my fav so I felt it went well. You can see the ever famous breech video on this blog. I also have lots of great stills on rotation and progress. Rose (the birthing woman in the video and homebirth midwife) and myself also presented our breech workshop at UNISA this week. It was part of their emergencies workshop. I tried to re enforce the idea that breech isn’t a malpresentation or emergency but a variation of normal. Just the language surrounding it can make a big difference to the amount of fear generated.
This week was about Twins. Luckily I had sent the video and still up in advance. While at the UNI I was called by a client and went on to a birth leaving my lovely friend and colleague Rosey to workshop in my place. We had discussed a plan of the topic and the feed back was amazing, making me feel a little jealous!! LOL. Some of the Independents here have been sharing the workshop load they are all masters at the craft of midwifery so I knew safe hands were in place.
I got to attend a fantastic birth instead. Everyone is a winner.
Just as a side I’ve been developing a blog for the SA college of midwives. Please check it out, comment and give suggestions for getting the midwife out there in SA. I feel like I’ve done quite a good job on this so I’d love it for all you readers in the college to get a link happening.

Hi Lisa, I really really enjoy reading your blog since I’ve discovered it early this year. First comment!
I’ve been very curious about birth since I was 4 (when my bro was born and I couldn’t be there with my parents, because of the birth centre rules), and now passionate about homebirth for the last 3 years.
You’re doing a great job with your blog Lisa! Keep your faith in women, life, birth! Go, go, Lisa! Such a shame that I’m not in Adelaide…
Sweet thoughts from a french fan in Sydney.
Thank you Milie. I love keeping my blog up to date with current midwifery affairs and a little of my own stuff too.
