The amount of hate mail I’ve received over the last few days has been remarkably low. I suppose all the uninformed must be spreading their vitriolic opinions in the comment section of the national rags. I forgive you if you’re basing your opinion on sloppy, lazy, sensationalistic journalism. You have an excuse. They don’t.
Anyway, I thought I’d share this hateful nugget with you. Apparently from chicane@iinet.net.au. I haven’t replied to chicane – I thought I’d write here instead. I don’t want you to think I only publish the complimentary comments.
So chicane, instead of wasting your time pontificating over stuff that you know nothing about, just watch the youtube clip at the bottom of this post. It’s especially for you and everyone like you!
Your insolence complete lack of regard for human life is disgusting. Not only have you presided over the deaths of 5 babies in 4 years, you have absolutely zero medical training, no knowledge of the human body of human birthing, and absolutely no remorse for the 5 sets of parents whose lives you ruined.
Your use of terms like “brain hydrops” (hydrops has nothing to do with the brain) and complete misunderstanding of medical science prove your are just a lonely woman wanting to be noticed. You have zero medical training – you’re not a doctor (not smart enough), not a nurse, not even a midwife. You’re just a lonely, attention-seeking woman who just wants to be noticed. And killing 5 different children was one of your options.
You’re a criminal, a fraud and a disgrace to women everywhere. I have no qualms with homebirth, but not at your hands. You’re nothing, you have the same qualifications as a garden gnome.
Not only ruining these families’ lives, but inherently compromising your own children’s future – and your husband. They will always just be know for being part of “that whacko nurse-poser Lisa Barrett” clan. I hope you can rebuild their lives after the police and Coroner have destroyed yours.
Here’s an idea – finish high school, go to University, become a doctor, do an internship, do a residency, do a specialisation, THEN you can deliver babies.
But you didn’t do that – you didn’t do anything. You went from the life of a bored, lonely housewife thinking you were a doctor, to a nationally disgraced woman at the centre of massive public outrage. Your soul is dog shit Lisa, and every single thing about you is ugly.
Get rid of your dreadlocks, they cost you any modicum of credibility you might have had.

Hey Lisa – from one housewife to another (and rarely bored I might add cos I for one am far too busy baking and doing craft – true!) this post is timely cos I have been thinking about you a lot this week. Gave me and and no doubt many who actually know you, a laugh! For the record, we love gnomes at our place – Miles calls them ‘Hi Ho’s'! Its only the ignorant that write or think such things. Those that know the truth are your biggest fans Lisa. I don’t know what sort of person would write something like that to someone they don’t know and know nothing about. Some sort of dipshit that’s for sure. A bully just looking for a target.
How sad, obviously that person is mentally unstable and I am sorry you had to read that!
