Welcome To The Birth Place

Pregnant WomenFor Expectant Mothers

If you’re a pregnant woman you’ll know one of your biggest challenges is finding out information and getting your questions answered. Like: Where can I birth? Can I have a waterbirth? What about VBACs? What’s the cure for morning sickness? Well the list is truly endless.

Also being pregnant is very exciting so you’re sure to want to know what interesting services are available to you? What products really work? How can you meet other pregnant women? Perhaps you would like to participate in something fun like belly casting or belly art.

Well if we can’t help you we are sure to know somebody who can.

Just drop in and have a chat at The Birth Place. Our service is free so you’ve nothing to lose.

For Midwives & Doulas

As we’re backed up by a host of experienced birth professionals we also provide educational training and workshops for midwives, student midwives and doulas. Learn and share your knowledge with others that have first hand experience of birth and its many variations.

We run regular workshops covering every aspect of birth. Check out the calender opposite and come along to an event.

Join The Birth Place

Our aim is to provide advice, education and services for expectant mothers and birth professionals. If you have a service that will benefit Adelaide’s birth community you might like to join The Birth Place. We know there’s a huge variety of both professional and recreational services that pregnant women will find useful. But up until now the problem has been putting everyone in touch with each other. We hope The Birth Place will fill that void.

We have a 100 sqm function area that is ideal for workshops and classes. There’s a large whiteboard and plenty of seating. There’s also a separate consulting room, a small kitchen with tea & coffee facilities and of course a toilet.

The Birth Place has a wonderful birthy ambiance. It’s full of posters, information charts and photographs of everything birth related. We even have great book library.

We hope pregnant women will consider The Birth Place to be the first stop on their birth journey. If you live near Adelaide it’s the easiest way to discover your birth options and the local services that are available to you.

Spread The Word

Please spread the word. Pregnant women need information. Tell your friends, use forums, facebook or twitter. Each year birth becomes increasingly corporatised. Women often feel isolated and encouraged to go against their natural instinct. They are fast losing control of their pregnancy and having their choices taken away or marginalised. Pregnant women are not simply incubators, so please help The Birth Place put women back in charge of their pregnancy.
